Ground Cover

 

General Properties 

Groundcover is a porous material woven from long-lasting polypropylene tapes. Groundcover is suitable for using in green houses and open air too, for big producers as well as for small gardeners.

Quality Assurance

The figures in product information are the mean of several tests. Groundcover is manufactured in accordance with the company ISO 9002 quality system procedures. Quality properties are attested systematically by these technical testing institutes: 

  •  TBU GmbH, Gutenbergstr. 29, 48268 Greven, Nìmecko

  •  TZU Václavská 6, 658 41 Brno, Èeská republika 

Functions and characteristics:

  • absorbs sunlight therefore reduces photosynthesis and prevents weed growth 

  • environmentally friendly reduces the need for herbicides and other weed controls

  • construction allows water to penetrate into soil and maintains soil humidity during dry periods by reducing evaporation

  • notably reduces time necessary to maintenance flower- beds is resistant to attack by mildew and bacteria

  • is resistant to UV-radiation

  • coloured tapes inwoven in to a warp and based on requirement of customer in weft direction too, easy regular planting of herbs or laying flower-pots

Types:

  • groundcover is produces in three types 90 g/m2, 100 g/m2, and 130 g/m2

  • basic colour is black, prospectively black-green

  • marking green tapes or squares are inwoven every 15 cm

  • standard widths are 105, 210, 330, 420 and 525 cm, other widths according to customer requirements and production possibilities. 

  • Juta a.s. produces white groundcover 100 g/m2 too, that is mainly used in green houses

    • reflects sunshine and therefore prevents soil overheating and supports growing of plants
