Geomembrane

General characteristics

Geomembrane is manufactured only from technically selected, high quality grades of HDPE-PP-LDPE under carefully controlled proven extrusion technology. In addition, the Geomembrane is stabilised against UV radiation and supplied in widths of 5,1 and 8,0 metres. Geomembranes withstand the effects of chemicals, acid, alkaline and salt solutions. The Geomembrane is not affected by mildew and micro-organisims. Furthermore, the Geomembrane cannot be penetrated by the roots from surrounding vegetation. The quality of drinking water is not affected by the use of Geomembrane.

Quality Assurance

The geomembrane is manufactured in accordance with the company ISO 9001 quality system procedures. An internal Geomembrane manufacturing quality assurance system was designed to specifically control the quality of the product. The principles of the systematic regular quality assurance control is the BAM Berlin method. All tests on Geomembrane are in accordance with this procedure, including the frequency of testing. The supervision of the Geomembrane quality is subject to testing at independent institutes - TGM WIEN, MPA DARMSTADT and ITC Zlín. The Geomembrane is certified for use in many countries throughout the world.

Handling and Transportation Procedures

To ensure that the rolls of Geomembrane are not damaged during the
loading and unloading of vehicles, special care and attention must be taken during these operations. Transportation of Geomembrane must be undertaken by professional companies who operate clean vehicles with sufficient load carrying capacity.Geomembrane can be transported in a 3 layer pyramid formation - 4 rolls in the bottom layer, 3 rolls in the middle and 2 rolls on the top. During transportation of Geomembrane rolls must be secured to the vehicle through the use of wedges and belts. To unload rolls of Geomembrane safely it is necessary to use a suitable material handling vehicle crane or forklift truck. To prevent damage to the rolls of Geomembrane during the unloading operation, it is recommended to use textile belts with sufficient carrying capacity. To prevent damage to the rolls of Geomembrane when being stored on the construction site, a flat surface free of sharp objects (stones, branches etc.) is necessary. To protect the Geomembrane, a base layer of geotextile geoNETEX S 1200 must be used. Rolls of Geomembrane can be stored on the construction site without damage in a 3 layer formation, provided they are on a flat surface and protected with a base layer of geotextile geoNETEX S 1200. To prevent movement during storage on the construction site, the rolls of Geomembrane must be properly secured using wedges.
