Junop

   Drainage systems

General Properties

The membrane is made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It has
excellent mechanical properties. The material has chemical resistance to all common chemicals, acids, alkalis and salt solutions, to mildew, bacteria and penetrating roots. The membrane is stabilized against UV radiation. The studded membrane is produced in two basic stud heights - 8 and 20 mm. The profiled impermeable membrane separates a building from its surroundings to protect it. The studded membrane creates a clean air blanket. To join separate sheets easily by welding the membrane has 55 - 80 mm wide flat edges.

Quality Assurance

Our internal Membrane manufacturing quality assurance system was designed to control the quality of the product. The supervision of the membrane quality is subject to testing at an independent institute, ITC Zlín. The product is certified. The produt is manufactured in accordance with the company’s ISO 9001 quality system procedures.

Applications

  • Prevention of insulation, replacement of a retention wall

  • Replacement of base concrete

  • Use on flat roofs and terraces

  • Protection against damp - from inner side of a wall

  • Protection against damp - from outer side of a wall

  • Combined drainage with geotextile

  • Drainage on base (supporting) walls

  • Drainage in tunnels

Handling and Transportation Procedures

Transportation must be undertaken by suitable, clean vehicles. During loading and unloading of the membrane it is necessary to be very carefull to avoid mechanical damage. Rolls of the studded membrane are transported vertically (standing) in bulk or on pallets. Rolls must be secured against movement. The product can be stored vertically in protected areas (halls).

Joining

a) joining of sheets - longitudinal and transversal simple joint
Apply double sided JUNOP Tape SP 03 05 between the first and second rows of studs to one membrane un-rolled on a flat surface; removing the protective paper from the tape after it is applied. Then lay the second membrane onto the exposed tape, taking care to ensure that the first row of studs fits together with lower row, and press the two sheets together. Complete the joint by sealing it with a layer of single sided butyl rubber tape JUNOP K 03 18.

b) joining of two sheets - double joint
Apply two parallel pieces of double sided JUNOP Tape SP 03 05 to one membrane un-rolled with one tape between the first and second rows of studs and the second tape between the second and third rows. Then lay the second membrane on top so that the two rows of studs fit together. Press the joint properly.

c) joining of sheets with overlap
To form a 20 cm to 30 cm wide overlap lay both membranes down on a flat surface so that the rows of studs fit together. Then seal the overlap edge with one-sided JUNOP Tape K 03 18.

d) Welding by using, for example X84, TRIAC (Leister) welding machines, extruders
1. welding of Junop sheets (at standard widths 1,88 m and 2,35 m) - lay sheets of membrane side by side on a prepared surface (smooth edges overlap) and weld them together
2. welding of details (corners, cut-throughs) - use extruder
